- Local Study Club meets the first Monday AND Tuesday nights of each month, September through May, 7-9 PM ET — join either the Monday-night (both online or in person) or the Tuesday-night (in person only)
- Online Study Club meetings are ONLY Monday nights and are recorded for review by Study Club members
Objective
- Provide organized evaluation of the dental literature
- Provide a forum for prosthodontic case presentations and treatment planning discussions
- Provide lectures on various topics
Club Features: Both In person and Online formats
- 18 hours of CE per academic year / 2 hours per meeting attended
- Online and in person format
- Meetings are recorded and a link to access the meet is provided following the meeting
- CE is not provided for watching the recording.
- Annual subscription fee is $880.00
Seminar Choices: Local Study Club or Online Study Club. Local attendees will also receive a link for online attendance to be used if needed due to sickness or family responsibilities that arise. Those that are out of state please select Online Study Club when registering. > Register for Study Club
Prosthodontic and Dental Implant Study Club
September – May
Meeting Format:
7:00 – 7:20 p.m. – Dental Literature Evaluation
7:20 – 8:15 p.m. – Case Presentations/ Treatment Planning Discussion
8:15 – 9:00 p.m. – Lecture
How to participate in each Study Club meeting online:
- Dr. Brodine will e-mail each online Study Club member a link to use for logging into the Online Study Club meeting
- Interact in real time with Rochester group during Online Study Club meetings by asking questions, and presenting your cases
via digital photos and radiographs and verbal explanation for treatment planning discussion - View the recorded Study Club meeting later that month if you miss the LIVE meeting
- Receive your continuing education certificate via e-mail after attending the LIVE Study Club meeting online
What equipment is needed:
- Computer with high speed internet connection
- Telephone near your computer (audio is via telephone)

Course Content:
Meeting for two hours one evening per month, September through May, this small-group Study Club focuses on prosthodontic and dental implant case presentations and treatment planning discussions. The group also reviews at least one article per month from the prosthodontic and dental implant literature as a means of learning evidence-based literature evaluation. Dr. Alan Brodine serves as mentor for the group, and he presents a lecture on a prosthodontic or dental implant topic that has been requested by group members. In addition, one study club meeting per month is connected to the web for participation of online study club members, and a video recording is made available online for those who were unable to attend or those who wish to review the information discussed.
Educational Objectives:
- Provide organized evaluation of the prosthodontic and dental implant literature
- Provide a forum for prosthodontic and dental implant case presentations and treatment planning discussions
- Provide lectures on prosthodontic and dental implant topics of interest to the study club members
Refunds and Cancellations
All seminars are refundable up to 45 days prior to the seminar date, less a $100 processing fee, unless the participant has received the seminar notebook and DVDs by mail for prior course study in which case the seminar fee is not refundable. Cancellations 45 days or less prior to the seminar date, fees are refunded at 50%. For cancellations 7 days or less prior to the seminar date, 100% of fees are forfeited. Fees paid may be transferred to a future available seminar within 12 months, one time only per participant. Dr. Brodine reserves the right to cancel or reschedule seminars with advance notification to the participants. In such event, seminar fees will be refunded in full, or transferred to a future date at the participant’s discretion. Submission of a registration form serves as acknowledgement and understanding of this policy by the registrant.
Alan Brodine, DMD
Dr. Alan Brodine is a Board Certified Prosthodontist and has been a Diplomate of the American Board of Prosthodontics since 1991.
He is a Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of Rochester and teaches in the Prosthodontic Residency training programs at:
- University of Rochester
- University of Texas
- University of Tennessee
- U.S. Air Force
- U.S. Navy
Dr. Brodine is:
- A Fellow in the American College of Prosthodontists
- A Fellow in the Academy of General Dentistry
- A Fellow in the American College of Dentists
- A Fellow in the Pierre Fauchard Academy
- Past-President of the American Academy of Restorative Dentistry
Dr. Brodine has made more than 100 invited presentations at national and international venues and has authored numerous papers in major Prosthodontic journals.
Dr. Brodine has maintained a private practice Limited to Prosthodontics in Rochester, N.Y., since 1988. He spends 80% of his time in private practice and 20% of his time teaching.
In addition, Dr. Brodine formed Brodine Prosthodontic Seminars in 2003 to help Dentists master specific Prosthodontic and Dental Implant skills.
Brian Brodine, DDS, MDS
Brian Brodine, DDS, MDS is a Diplomat of the American Board of Prosthodontics and attended dental school at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center graduating with the Deans Award in clinical dentistry. Dr. Brian Brodine also has a Masters of Dental Science and was awarded a certificate in Advanced Prosthodontics from the University of Tennessee Graduate Heath Science after completing a three year post doctoral residency program. During Dr. Brian Brodine’s post-doctoral training he was involved in teaching fixed and removable prosthodontics to pre-doctoral dental students at the University of Tennessee dental school, conducted biomaterials research and completed clinical treatment for patients requiring complete and partial tooth replacement as well as management of patients suffering with TMJ disorders. Dr. Brian Brodine has published several original research articles in well recognized Dental Journals including the:
